We’re half way through the 2014 WCA cyclocross schedule, so we wanted to update everyone on what the team has been up to so far. This year we’ve added about 20 riders to our roster. Some of them are experienced racers, some are new to the scene, and some just looking for a team to hang with. We’re especially excited to have added a few women’s riders to our ranks. And all these new riders have helped us earn the third place spot in WCA Team Standings! So far there have been eight races and as a team, we’ve managed 23 podiums!
Of our new team members, lots are competing for the first time in cyclocross and finding out how addictive it can be. Robert Berry, Jadon Jaeger, Jason Rudroff and Steve Trebatoski are all new to cyclocross, but are doubling-up on race day to get their fill of the fun and suffering.
Our Grafton Pumpkincross race was a huge success – we had 299 racers competing on a super fun course and were treated to a gorgeous day, weather-wise.
We’ve also hit the turning point where a few of us have upgraded. While it’s fun to get podiums and pick up some team points, challenging yourself in the next level is what this is all about. Congratulations to everyone who took the step up this year. Train hard, racer harder, and I’m sure we’ll see them succeed in the higher category.
